Material: Authentic Himalayan Salt
Important notes on cooking, grilling and searing with a Himalayan salt block. Do not exceed 425° in temperature as high heat risks cracks, fissures and potentially hazardous consequences. Himalayan salt slabs turn opaque when heated and can develop cracks, they also may take on the coloration of the foods prepared. Always pre-heat and cook on the same side of your salt cooking slab to prevent over salting and premature wear; this will extend the life of the product. Cooking foods high in moisture content such as fish and seafood will absorb and impart more salt flavors, while cooking foods high in fat such as steak will infuse less salt flavors. To reduce salt flavoring lightly coat your salt cooking slab in olive or truffle oil prior to cooking. We find that foods that cook quickly work best; be sure to cut proteins to an appropriate thickness for best results.
